OISA Wax Off
On Tuesday, November 1st 2011, 10 OISA guys questioned the order of things. They wondered life would be like without that furry insulation keeping their legs warm. They were convinced, or maybe coerced, by some of their peers that the cause was worth it, that all the money would be for charity – for a noble cause. The arena was uOttawa’s Agora Box, and the shrieks of those who dared, coupled with the laughter of onlookers, soon filled the University Centre. Some of the more sadistic female members of the Exec team seemed to enjoy doling out generous amounts of wax that gave some of the gentlemen legs smoother than, well than they had ever been. Need a laugh, at the expense of the still hurting gents? Have a look at the pictures below.
This writer missed that event, and the buzz that followed. Some anonymous presidential member of OISA had gotten the word out that I was going to have my chest waxed (if anyone finds this member, please forward his contact information), much to my delight. Now, in the dead of Ottawa winter’s one needs all the warmth one can get. Unfortunately, this winter is going to be a little colder. On a cold operating table in the depths of the Carleton campus, surrounded by more cameras than Paris Hilton, and to the tune of countdowns, hot wax made my chest a little smoother. Its all for the cause though, right?
In all seriousness, a huge thank you to all those who donated to both OISA and FOCUS – your donations are going to go a long way. But more than that, you’ve shown the strength in OISA as a group – we always band together and come through for causes we care about. Thumbs up to you all!
